Aruba Photos : Land Rover Tour
We toured the island of Aruba with about 30 other people, driving
offroad in Land Rovers. We stopped at various scenic attractions
including the lighthouse, the natural bridges, the caves with the
prehistoric paintings on the walls, the old gold mine ruins, etc.
For a full-day trip, we had a really good time.

It was a blast driving those Land Rovers, especially off-road. :-)
| The island of Aruba is a desert island, so you won't see a lot of green. | |

| Tiny cactus growing on the ground covered with lava rock. | |
It's amazing anything can grow in this stuff.

| A mostly unappealing rocky terrain... | |
...but notice those stones piled on top of each other?
| Visitors who come here are told to stack rocks on top of each other and make a wish... | |
...and there have been many visitors.

| We stacked our own stones and made a wish... | |

An old church.

This is the ruins of an old gold mine.

Not a swimmer's beach, but pretty nonetheless.

| As we were driving along in the Land Rover, we spotted some goats standing around. | |
| Here we were forced to stop because one of the Land Rovers had a flat tire. | |
| So we stood around and snapped off a few shots. | |
And some stacked their stones and made a wish.

Caves where ancient Indian tribes used to take shelter.

Many markings and paintings are still visible on the ceilings and walls.

We stopped and took a ferry to DePalm Island.

Here's the whole gang in our Land Rover.

Seak Trek: We put breathing helmets on our heads and climbed down 25 feet to the ocean floor. We walked around for about 40 minutes, viewing marine life and a sunken airplane, and posing for various photos. Quite an interesting experience!
